Our Story
In 2020, owners Daniel and Denise Talley began gathering native seeds for the creation of an herbaceous wholesale nursery. Their travels took them to roadside meadows, mountain savannahs, stream banks, gravel bars, and deciduous forests throughout the region. The goal was simple: produce top-quality native plugs with southern provenance.
Daniel and Denise met in 2019, both involved in different areas of agriculture. Daniel brings to Euchee Meadows 25 years of experience in the field of horticulture. Graduating with a degree in Ornamental Horticulture and Landscape Design from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, he has held positions including owner/designer of a native landscaping company, estate gardener, nursery manager, and as a consultant for parks and public gardens. Daniel's love of natives has been a lifelong obsession from identification to propagation. When not tending to the nursery and homestead, Daniel enjoys hiking, botanizing, whitewater canoeing and kayaking.
Denise graduated from Berry College in 2007 with a degree in Disability Studies and Visual Communications. She started the Bay View Riding Academy in 2010 which grew to be one of the premier riding schools in Chattanooga growing horsemanship skills in disciplines of western, dressage, and hunter-jumper. A PATH International and CHA certified instructor, Denise offers 1:1 equine-assisted therapies and coaches the IEA teams for riders in 4-12 grades. Denise currently teaches special education at Skyuka Hall in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and in the afternoons/weekends works alongside Daniel at the nursery/homestead. Daniel and Denise have 3 children- Amelia, Gertrude, and Cruz who enjoy spending their time on the farm caring for the animals and plants.
Euchee Meadows Nursery will launch in the spring of 2022 at the Talley homestead in Meigs County, Tennessee. Inventory will include flowering perennials, grasses, and sedges updated weekly. The nursery supplies to the wholesale market only- landscape professionals, contractors, nurseries, municipal and government agencies, botanical gardens, and non-profit organizations.
